Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock offers free citizenship course and builds community connections

The Social Justice Committee supports volunteer opportunities to make the world a better place.

At Shelter Rock, we seek to involve all members in our Unitarian Universalist mission to build a world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all. While action on behalf of justice is the responsibility of the entire congregation, the Social Justice Committee exercises special leadership in this sphere by providing opportunities for education and volunteer action on the most pressing moral and social issues of the day.

The committee provides opportunities for members and friends to become informed about and involved in social, moral, ethical, and economic problems and issues through Social Action, such as Hunger and Veterans Support Services, and Education and Advocacy, such as Immigration Reform and Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement (CAIC).

Additional Justice areas include Backpack and School Supplies Drives and Climate Justice initiatives. Read more to get involved or contact Social Justice Coordinator Sonia Arora.

All programming and meetings are canceled through that date, except for Music Sunday and RE at 11 AM followed by Sunday Cafe on April 19.
