UUCSR Awards TWO 20th Annual Music Scholarships!

Published June 2, 2024

Members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock (UUCSR) are excited to announce the winners of TWO 2024 Edward Miller Memorial Music Scholarships. The winners are Kieran Calderaro, who graduates this June from Seaford High School and Liam Osborne, who is graduating from Mepham High School. Both winners were selected by the prestigious Nassau Music Educators Association (NMEA) from a pool of very highly accomplished music students.

The Edward Miller Memorial Music Scholarship was founded by the Music Committee of UUCSR in September 2004 to honor the congregation's former Music Director who was also a music teacher at East Rockaway High School. The scholarship is funded in entirety by donations from UUCSR members and friends.

Official scholarship presentations will highlight the Sunday, June 2, 2024 Worship Service titled, “Appreciation and Renewal,” led by Rev. Dr. Natalie M. Fenimore at 11:00 AM. The UUCSR Young People’s Choir and the UUCSR Jazz Ensemble will also participate. All are welcome.

A Message from the UUCSR Ministers and President
In this time of grief with the passing of Rev. Dr. Natalie Fenimore, congregational leadership has discerned the need for space to mourn, reflect, and care for one another between now and Sunday, April 26. All programming and meetings are canceled through that date, except for Music Sunday and RE at 11 AM followed by Sunday Cafe on April 19.
