Normandy Mail Call for a Shelter Rock Member!

We are delighted to share that UUCSR member Capt. Hugh Stephens, affectionately known as Huey, has been honored with an invitation to the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Ceremony in Normandy, France, on June 6, 2024, alongside 59 other distinguished veterans. This extraordinary journey, courtesy of American Airlines, begins on May 30, winding from Paris through the scenic French countryside, culminating in poignant ceremonies at Normandy. A highlight of the adventure is the "Mail Call" project, an initiative designed to surprise and honor the veterans, including Huey, in a manner reminiscent of the 1940s. While the trip itself is public knowledge, the details of the Mail Call project are meant to be a delightful secret. To contribute to this heartfelt tribute, Maryann Zappulla is seeking your assistance. Please send heartfelt letters and cards for Huey, echoing the cherished Mail Calls of the 1940s.
