From Zsofia Sztranyiczki

Dear supporters of our fundraising efforts to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees and the internally displaced,

On 24 October 2023,  International Convocation of Unitarian Universalist Women (ICUUW) Executive Director Zsófia Sztranyiczki accompanied Rev. István Kovács, the bishop of the Hungarian Unitarian Church (HUC) and the staff of Gondviselés (Providence) Charity Organization on its tenth (10th) aid shipment delivery to the Diaconal Coordination Center of the Transcarpathia Reformed (Calvinist) Church in Beregszász (Berehove), Ukraine.

The supplies consisted of 1500 kgs of canned food and sugar, 205 tourniquets, and 25 laptops benefiting students of the Hungarian-language Reformed School of Técső (Tiachiv).

Please see the following video and photo reports of this humanitarian action:

Thanks to the generous donations of Unitarian Universalist siblings-in-faith and other donors, the total amount that Providence has provided for various humanitarian and educational activities to support Ukrainian refugees and those internally displaced - from February 2022 to October 2023 - has reached 271,000 USD.

At our Virtual Annual Gathering on 10 October 2023, Andrea Székely, board member of Providence Organization, spoke about the organization's work for Ukrainian refugees in Cluj/Kolozsvár, Transylvania. If you didn't attend this inspiring event and would like to find out more about Providence's work, please watch the recording: https://youtu.be/zTFhtVHtkaY?si=RQh5gvGvsYeTIcyh

The International Convocation of Unitarian Universalist Women is in the process of sending approximately 5,500 USD (in addition to the 97,000 USD already sent since the onset of the war) to support Providence's vital work, especially their groundbreaking Ukrainian school program.

Thank you for making this important work possible.

Gratefully,

Zsófia Sztranyiczki, PhD

Our Ministers are available for any support for our Community during this difficult time.
A Message from the UUCSR Ministers and President
In this time of grief with the passing of Rev. Dr. Natalie Fenimore, congregational leadership has discerned the need for space to mourn, reflect, and care for one another between now and Sunday, April 26. All programming and meetings are canceled through that date, except for Music Sunday and RE at 11 AM followed by Sunday Cafe on April 19.
