Barry has been a religious educator for over 30 years, serving congregations in Spokane and San Diego prior to coming to Shelter Rock in 1993. He received his Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Divinity degrees from Meadville Theological School.

In 2005 he was a Merrill Fellow at Harvard Divinity School. He has served as President of the Liberal Religious Educators Association and has chaired the UUA Panel on Theological Education and the UUA Curriculum Development Committee. He is author of Thoreau as Spiritual Guide, Emerson as Spiritual Guide, A Dream Too Wild and True Harvest, all of which are published by Skinner House Books. He is father of two sons, living on the West coast, and husband of Linda, a teacher in the Great Neck Schools.

Bonnie has been on the Religious Education staff at Shelter Rock since the summer of 1996. For the four years prior to that she was Director of Religious Education at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Central Nassau in Garden City. She has earned an MBA from Fordham University and an MA in Psychology from Columbia University Teachers College. Bonnie especially enjoys storytelling and singing for children's and intergenerational worship services along with her supportive relationships with the many volunteer RE staff members. She is a member of Willow, an interfaith women's a cappella singing group that performs at worship services and special events held at Shelter Rock and at many other venues on Long Island. She has a son who now lives and works in San Diego and a daughter who lives with her and works as a fashion designer in Manhattan.

Barbara has been Assistant to the Religious Education program since October 4, 1993, the same year the congregation moved to its new home at Shelter Rock. She provides administrative support to the paid and volunteer staff of the RE program. Barbara is also liaison to the Adult Programs and Library/Bookstore Committees. Barbara loves to sing and as a chorister has had the opportunity to perform on three continents as well as St. Patrick's Cathedral and Carnegie Hall. She has two grown children: Kathryn and husband Joseph live on the Big Island of Hawaii; Rob and wife Dina live in Monroe, NY with Barbara's first grandchild Grace Annamarie and grand-dog Dixie. Barbara chose to become a Unitarian Universalist after learning about it on the job as the Assistant to the RE Program at Shelter Rock. She is currently a very active member of the Freeport congregation.
