The Rev. Dr. Paul S. Johnson, Senior Minister at Shelter Rock, invites you to read The Peabody Sisters: Three Women Who Ignited American Romanticism, by Megan Marshall. The famous Peabody sisters were champions of reform movements, pioneers in modern educational theory, founders of the Kindergarten movement in America and supporters of the arts during the 19th century. All three sisters demonstrated a distinctly Unitarian Transcendentalism that strove to realize its vision of human goodness through practical applications in the world.
